Judy began her career as a certified primary and secondary Montessori teacher. She was a teacher trainer who owned and operated Sunrise Montessori School in Santa Barbara for 5 years before teaching music performance and art history in a self-designed program for all grades in the Goleta Union School District.

When Rob was asked to do a major speaking tour for First American Title Company in conjunction with establishing the first national intermediary company in the country, Judy left her teaching position to serve as coordinator for over 160 seminars. The presentations taught attorneys, CPAs, title officers, and escrow officers major real estate investors about the benefits and structuring of exchanges.

In 1988, Judy and Rob established Amherst Exchange Corporation with Judy at its helm. Over the years, she has served as Qualified Intermediary in thousands of exchange transactions nationwide entrusted with proceeds in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
